No matter the events that might happen in this country, political or non-political, make sure you remind yourself that there is always someone much greater whom you can place your trust in. No, I am not talking about a third-party candidate who could have won your vote to the detriment of Clinton or Trump. I am talking about God the Father in Supreme Command.
So… who’s the actual leader?
I remember listening to a sermon during which the pastor spoke about the significance of “Who” is leading. The conclusion was it’s not important who’s the leader of the country, but rather who is leading our leader. The Bible says that the governor of the province of Judea, Pontius Pilate was the one who made the decision on whether to execute Jesus Christ or to let Him go. “Do you refuse to speak to me,” said Pilate. “Don’t you realize I have power either to free you or crucify you?” Jesus answered, “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above.” (John 19: 10-11) Pilates chose to please the men and not God, despite the fact that he had the earthly ability to let Jesus go.
“I am innocent of this man’s blood; see to it yourselves.” (Matt 27:19) Due to his privileged position as governor, Pontius Pilate had the authority to set Jesus free, but his decision determined the execution. Therefore, he was not innocent of Jesus’s blood.
The Election Results
There is no authority in this world above Jesus, and there is no authority on this Earth that is there unless He decides so. As a result, the outcome of this election is insignificant.
Unfortunately, none of the candidates seemed to be led by Jesus Christ. Therefore our hope must not be in our next president, but in God. And a lot of people agree on this solution and know that they should never let politics mix with religion.
In the end, we must all keep in mind that, no matter what, Jesus Christ is still Lord of all.
Never lose faith. Godspeed.
